Well this was interesting. In keeping with the hearty, warm Autumn recipes of today, I decided on my way home from work to make apple cider in my crockpot, not really thinking about how long it would take to cook. It was 4 hours on High or 8 on low.
I used the fruit (apple, orange, Asian pear) from the following Pinterest recipe Homemade Fall Harvest Hot Crockpot Apple Cider and the spices from this Pinterest recipe Slow Cooker Homemade Apple Cider
I used a hand/immersion blender to blend up the fruits after taking out the cinnamon sticks, but it was still a little chunky. Next time I will try straining it, just didn’t have it in me tonight.
I also added 4 tablespoons of brown sugar. It’s fairly good. But maybe next time I’d add more brown sugar, not quite my type of sweet, but I have a major sweet tooth.
