This book is amazing! Written by the talented Rin Chupeco, author of The Bone Witch trilogy, The Never Tilting World follows the stories of it’s four (!) main characters as they journey to the Abyss to fullfill their destinies and heal the Breaking.
The story follows Catseye Lan; a noble healer and fighter, her girlfriend (!) Odessa; Princess, Goddess, as they journey from one side of the world to the middle to discover Odessa’s destiny as Goddess and how she will come to rule in her mother’s stead.
Then we meet Arjun; desert dweller, flamethrower, who encounters Haidee; Princess, Goddess, on the other side of the world from Lan and Odessa.
The twins were raised each beliveing the other had died at birth. Along the way, their journeys are filled with loveable side characters, challenges and villians.
The world of Aeon is magical and deadly, destroyed by the Breaking seventeen years ago and Haidee and Odessa are each called upon to heal it in her own way.
I loved the way this story was written. I loved the characters. I loved the magic system. And I loved the sapphic love that just was.
I wish the ending had of been more well rounded, but maybe Chupeco’s intention is for their to be a sequel book. If not then the current ending does the trick, but it’s a bit weak. Definitely worth the read though.
